Howling Rabbits Beerworks: Craft Beer, Tasty Tacos, and Game Day Vibes in McAllen

I recently visited Howling Rabbits Beerworks with some friends, and we had such a great experience. The food was delicious, and we especially enjoyed trying the Guava Beer—it was refreshing and full of flavor. The service was excellent; the staff was attentive and welcoming, which made the whole visit even better. They also have great music playing and even show the games, which creates a lively and fun atmosphere. Definitely a spot I’d recommend for good food, drinks, and a great time with friends!

Went for a plant bingo (again) and had a great time. Food is good (the fries!! ) and cocktails are awesome. Try the Howling Vaquero!

We had their giant loaded soft pretzel and it was excellent. It had very good flavor and the add-ons with the cheese cubes, pickles and pepperoni slices were a great addition. I also had the chicken parm sando w/fries and it was very good, as well. I would definitely order both items again. They have some very good beer selections, too. The service was great. My only complaint is that it is very loud inside with the TV’s blaring. Once the weather is cooler, it will be nice to sit outside to eat and drink.

Update 9/11/24 - A shout out to the person who mans Messenger! I reached out earlier in the day to ask if they had non-alcoholic beer. I received an answer within a few minutes. We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had a great time trying different items on the menu. Baja tacos, chicken Cajun pasta. Service was also great. Only comment I have is I wish I could see my bill before paying for it. 4/2024 - Great to get a pizza and beer. There is indoors and outdoor seating. The pizza was fantastic, different combinations. The beer, if you like IPA, flights or single serving were great.

Pros: amazing food, amazing brews, good atmosphere Cons: Service organization could be better Detailed: We’ve visited this place a couple of times already and so far we’ve enjoyed the consumables we’ve ordered. However, someone needs to give the servers a break and organize them. There’s no seating assignment(even tho the place is packed most of the time) so everyone has to vulture their way into a table, the lack of order is bad. It looks like servers are not assigned a specific section/number of tables so no one knows who’s serving which table, we had 5 servers come to us and ask if we had been served one right after the other one; they are just walking all over the place which I can only assume can get them frustrated/overwhelmed. We’ve always had duplicate orders(either food or drink) come to our table because of this. Still, I do recommend this place because of the quality of their food and drink, but I do wish their service staff had someone to give them the opportunity to work in a more organized manner.

We went there on a Sunday for lunch and there were a few games on their many screens. It’s pretty much impossible not to get a great view of a screen. The craft beer was excellent, as was the pretzel and our burgers. 2 craft beers, pretzel, and two burgers with a good tip about $73.00. Definitely will be there again.

Great ambiance! Friendly staff! Variety of alcoholic beverages. I don’t drink beer, but their guava beer is delicious!! Wondering what to eat….all was delicious, but go for the burger and fries! P.S. I’ve read some negative reviews, but I differ on their opinion. For this being their first month of opening, they’re doing great! I’m sure it’s only gonna get better! New & great place for the RGV!!

This place is awesome! Asia waited on us with a smile and great , prompt and courteous service. The huge outdoor patio with many tvs will be our game watching for NFL season. Good prices sealed the deal.
